At the LAI Atlanta Fall meeting, Chapter President Russ Posey announced the incoming 2018 Board officers and members:

  • President – Jim Vivano
  • Vice-President – Bill De St. Aubin
  • Treasurer – Russ Posey
  • Secretary – Leslie Wade
  • Board member – Stephen Arms

Joan Herron (Founding Chapter President), Steve Foster and Holly Elmore continue to serve on the Board.

In addition, the following new member nominations were approved unanimously:

Tom Boland

As City of Smyrna Economic Development Director, Tom is responsible for all economic development activities including, but not limited to: business attraction, retention, and expansion; redevelopment, new development, downtown development, annexation, long range and short range economic development planning and visioning.

Tom graduated from Georgia State University with degrees in Urban Planning and Real Estate.

Bill De St. Aubin nominated Tom for membership.

Stephen Causby

As Manager of the Community Partnerships Group at the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), Stephen manages the team that coordinates ARC’s core leadership programs, provides support for CATLYST (the Regional Economic Competitiveness Strategy) and manages the agency’s Arts & Culture portfolio. The Community Partnerships Group is part of ARC’s Center for Livable Communities. Stephen leads the team that plans and executes the LINK program, an annual exchange that takes more than 100 of the Atlanta region’s leaders to another region to learn from best practices and innovative policies.

Stephen graduated from North Carolina State with a degree in Political Science; later Stephen earned a Masters in City and Regional Planning from Georgia Tech.

Holly Elmore and Michael Halicki nominated Stephen for membership.

Douglas Crawford

In 1974, Douglas founded D.L. Crawford Associates, a full-service commercial real estate company located in Atlanta, GA. The firm provides a full range of brokerage, advisory, and management services to institutional, governmental and individual clients. In addition, the firm serves as an umbrella organization for numerous investment and development partnerships, promoting primarily medium to large mixed-use projects.

Doug graduated with honors from Yale with a degree in Latin American Studies | Urban Planning.

Bill De St. Aubin nominated Douglas for membership.

Michael Halicki

Michael is the Executive Director of Park Pride, an Atlanta-based nonprofit that engages communities to activate the power of parks. Working with over 100 Friends of the Park groups, Park Pride provides the leadership and services that help communities realize their dreams for neighborhood parks. As Executive Director, Halicki leads the management of staff and programs, board support, fundraising, public relations, and program development.

Michael graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Journalism; later Michael earned a MPA, Non-Profit Management from Georgia State University.

Paul Morris nominated Michael for membership.

Doug Stoner

In 2004, Doug was elected to the State Senate to represent Georgia’s 6th District, which includes portions of Cobb and Fulton Counties. He was re-elected by his constituents in 2006, 2008 and 2010. He was listed among the “Most Influential Georgians of the Year” by James magazine in 2010. Doug finished his service in the Senate in 2012. Since 2013, Doug serves as South Cobb Redevelopment Authority.

Doug graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Political Science & Government.

Tim Trefzer

As Director of Sustainability, Tim oversees environmental and social sustainability at the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA), which is comprised of the Georgia World Congress Center, the Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park, as well as the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center. Tim administered the GWCC’s LEED for Existing Buildings Silver certification making it the world’s largest LEED-certified convention center.

Tim graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Residential Science & Housing, Business Administration; later Tim earned a Masters in Sustainability from Arizona State where he now serves as a Faculty Associate.

Holly Elmore nominated Tim for membership.
